Two Innovative Solutions in Climate-Friendly Agriculture from Our Young Reporters for the Environment (YRE) Team

Together with our 9th and 10th grade students from the MUN and International Projects Club, we carried out exemplary projects that raise awareness for sustainable living as part of the Young Reporters for the Environment (YRE) project under the theme “Food Security and Climate Change.”

In this project, our 9th graders focused on reducing agriculture’s carbon footprint through hydroponic systems that save up to 90% water and decrease dependence on fossil fuels. Through the articles, podcasts, and videos they prepared, they showcased the eco-friendly side of modern farming with solid scientific data.

In another key focus of the project, our 10th grade students examined the cocopeat (coconut fiber) method, which emphasizes waste recycling and soil rehabilitation. With this climate-friendly model that reduces carbon dioxide emissions and restores degraded soils, they presented concrete solutions for a secure food future. Our young reporters aim to prove to the entire world their strong commitment to building a sustainable planet through the original content they created.
