Caring Bees
Saving Earth Our goal is to raise awareness about the importance of sustainable food practices by harnessing foreign language skills effectively. We pose the
overarching question to our Grade 3 students: “HOW CAN WE PREVENT FOOD WASTE FOR A BETTER FUTURE’’. This prompts them to delve into
research. Throughout our lessons, we utilize various tools such as relevant videos, reading materials, and vocabulary games to provide insights into
the topic. This approach fosters a culture of understanding and action towards reducing food wastage.
We further engage students by asking probing questions like “HOW CAN WE MINIMIZE FOOD WASTE IN OUR DAILY LIVES?” and “WHAT FOODS
ARE RECYCLABLE?” Additionally, we explore concepts like “SUSTAINABLE GASTRONOMY” and discuss global issues related to food sustainability.
Students are encouraged to conduct research and create educational materials such as posters, brochures, slogans, or recipe videos highlighting
the importance of recyclable foods. This not only supports their development as curious, empathetic, and well-rounded learners but also empowers
them to address pressing global challenges such as food waste.
